Good evening Boulder Creek Families, this is Mrs. Croes with your Sunday message:

  • This week, October 19-23, is Digital Citizenship week at Boulder Creek.  Throughout the week we will focus on the importance of being safe and responsible when using technology. We will discuss important information about keeping information safe and secure, about being respectful while using technology, and how to safely search the internet.  Students in 4th-8th grade will be taught lessons on how to be safe and respectful when using technology.

  • Next week, October 26th-30th is Red Ribbon/Spirit Week at Boulder Creek.  Please see the flyer attached in the email following this message for the details about themed dress-up days for the week. And, we are happy to announce that Boulder Creek will allow Halloween costumes for all of K-8 this year for the first time at the end of spirit week since we cannot hold our traditional Boulder Bash where students normally showcased their costumes.  Costumes will need to meet the dress code, and face masks will still need to be worn by all at drop-off and pick-up and by 3rd-8th grades during class.

  • In accordance with restrictions from Shasta County Public Health, public schools have disabled drinking fountains on campus.  Please include a refillable water bottle in your child’s backpack.  Students are allowed to fill water bottles at school and keep them on their desks.

  • And finally, we want to thank those who have accepted their nominations to run for the School Site Council.  If you would like to show your support to our nominees with your vote, please click on the ballot link in the email following this message.  Voting will be open until Wednesday, October 21st at 3:00 p.m.  Click HERE to vote for SSC parent members.

Have a wonderful Sunday evening as well as a beautiful week ahead.

Good evening Boulder Creek Families, this is Mrs. Croes with your Sunday message:

  • Even though we are doing everything possible to remain in Phase 3 - In-person Learning, there are some circumstances that may require us to enter Distance Learning (DL) as a school or as a cohort.  One such situation includes inadequate staffing/lack of substitutes for classrooms (due to staff illness or quarantine).  Should this occur, we will do our very best to notify our families as quickly as possible - preferably no later than 11:00 a.m. the day prior to moving to distance learning. See this and other possible DL circumstances in the October BC Bear Facts.

  • Picture Days are coming up on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.  Teachers will be announcing to their students and/or parents which day is their picture day.  Our Long-term Distance Learning students are scheduled for pictures on Thursday from 10:15-12:15.  There is no appointment necessary.  Pictures are in the gym for DL students.  DL students and parents will park in the back parking lot, enter through the designated gate, and proceed to the big gym.  Make sure you are wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.  A picture make-up day will be scheduled, likely in December, for students who are absent or are on 10-14 day Short-term Distance Learning.

  • A great big thank you to all of you for following the Boulder Creek traffic flow plan and pick-up times.  Things are running very smoothly at drop-off and pick-up.  Thank you for all your patience! Even though there is no rainy weather forecast in the near future, we ask that our families begin looking ahead.  Our pick-up procedure will not change, as we will still need to get students out together in cohorts to the parking lot quickly.  Boulder Creek does not have outdoor covered areas in the parking lots, so we ask that you equip your child with proper shoes, a raincoat, and an umbrella for the rainy season as they wait the few minutes for their ride.

  • As always, please complete the health check of your child before bringing him/her to school.  This includes a temperature check.  Notify our school office if your child is experiencing any symptoms on the CDC list.  And, don’t forget to put those masks in backpacks tonight so they aren’t forgotten on the way to school tomorrow.

  • Finally, be sure to contact our school office if you don’t receive the Sunday Message in your email following the phone call.  We often include links in the email message you may need to access.

Thank you so much, and enjoy the remainder of your evening!

Good evening Boulder Creek Families, this is Mrs. Croes with your Sunday message:

  • Even though we are doing everything possible to remain in Phase 3 - In-person Learning, there are some circumstances that may require us to enter Distance Learning as a school or as a cohort.  One such situation includes inadequate staffing/lack of substitutes for classrooms (due to staff illness or quarantine).  Should this occur, we will do our very best to notify our families as quickly as possible - preferably no later than 11:00 a.m. the day prior to moving to distance learning.

  • Many students are forgetting their masks in the mornings.  Please check all children for masks prior to leaving the house and car.  Thank you.

  • Some younger students who do not start school until 8:07 or 8:15 are arriving on campus too early.  Younger students should not arrive at their older siblings start times, it’s the older students who are allowed to come a little late at their younger siblings start times. Please drop kids at school according to the start time of the youngest child in the household.

  • Just a reminder to all parents that no visitors, except those adults walking Kindergartners to class, are allowed on campus without an appointment.  If you need to have a meeting with a teacher, please contact the teacher with an email or phone call to set up an appointment.

  • Reminder to all middle school distance learning students and their parents… P.E. and music classes have changed for all middle school students as of September 21st.  All Distance Learners are required to attend/check-in to their Google Classrooms for PE and Music Classes.  Please attend your music class if PowerSchool shows that it's on your schedule for the week.  Email your teachers if you have questions.

  • I want to thank our families who are following all of the drop-off and pick-up procedures.  We have made huge improvements in clearing our parking lots in a timely way.  Please put the following drop-off/pick-up safety tips into practice as these are areas where we still need improvement.

    • Slow down in the neighborhood.  We need to respect our Boulder Creek neighbors and keep our children safe.

    • All students and adults need to cross Springer Drive at the crosswalk on the west side of the school.  There is no crosswalk on the east side.

    • Please do not walk up the east driveway.  There is no sidewalk there, and this is a vehicle only zone.

On behalf of all of us at Boulder Creek, we wish you a wonderful week ahead!
